Apollo charged me for $560.00 for a rock chip smaller than a dime. It could have been fixed easily for $60.00. The Darwin agency was the company that ripped me off. Next time I will rent a car and stay at motels. Gary

We rented an RV to drive the Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to San Francisco. The incompetence of the Seattle office is shocking. There were over 13 people waiting there and no one saw a soul for 5 hours. It wasn't until I walked into the warehouse myself and started calling for people that they came to help us. We reserved a 22 foot RV and got a 27 foot RV with a broken generator. It was too big to drive down some of the roads we planned on and therefor we had to miss some of the sites we planned on seeing. Also, no power without a hookup sucked. Especially for the campgrounds that didn't have hookups. Apollo also required $1000 security deposit. I have been home for almost a month and still have not been refunded. I was told 10-14 business days. That is larceny & fraud. Upon contacting customer service all they can tell me is that "it looks like a refund was issued but they can't tell me when I might get it. And there's nothing else they can do." They have no more information and a manager is never available. I don't about you but $1000 is a lot of money and for them to just keep it after all the *** I had to deal with from them is criminal. Not to mention all the hidden fees, and I'm talking hundreds of dollars in hidden fees, they have after you pay your non-refundable rental downpayment. This company is a joke and should be brought up on criminal charges.

Saturday the 20est of april 2017 we have left our
expensive navigation system in the office of the assistent-
branche manager Mrs Blanka Mesa Flick.
When we got back home in the Netherlands, we missed it.
An E-mail lurned us that we left it there and when I would
send her my home adres she would return it to my home.
A few weeks later I did send her a few E-mails wich were
read, but not answered. This was the time to ask my travel- agent for some help to retrieve it.
Sofar no result,no answers, so its clear,my system is stolen
by a person who's name,adres and phonenumber i have.
That's a strange feeling to now who robbed you and just
can't do much bout it.
So once again don't trust them when can't see them

We hired a 6 berth Euro Motor Home in August 2018 in Alice Springs for nine days, no problems at all, on the day of pick up the office was very busy and Jill was managing all customers on her own as unfortunately one of the staff had gone home sick, she stayed very calm and explained all the details exactly, the gentleman helping showed us all the necessary operating things of the van, we travelled many miles seeing the outback of Australia and were very happy. They even went out of their way to make sure we had an automatic van as we are elderly and it has been many years since we have driven a manual, so thank you to all. A hint for anyone thinking of hiring a campervan, please have soft sided luggage as there is no storage for large luggage which is common sense if you think about it.

Awfull Experience

We had a aweful expirience with Apollo. For years we hired Cruise America but their RV are quite old.

So we desided to try Apollo. The RV was new and ok.

We had a incident in windshield. Called the service alarm number and had it repared. Luckily we had full insurance!

When returning our RV the employees were pushing and inpolite.

They discovered damage to the Awe. We were not aware of this and it was not checked before leaving! Finally we had to pay 1500 dollars in afvance for a new one. We would get a bill.

We were so stressed and we felt very intimidated. This company goes for dollars and not for customers service. We are very disappointed. We had a fantastic vacation in the USA, but this was a dreadful experience.

We feel ripped off! We will not exept this and will take futher steps. So be alert and aware when you hire a Apollo RV!

We are really disappointed about appollo Brisbane, this was supposed to be the best place to book a camperhome and it’s not that.. The other day we arrived to get our camperhome and we had a very big problem. We arrived at 9:15am and we got our camperhome at 2pm. We booked a camperhome with a name and other friend of my school booked another camperhome at the same moment with his name but we pay the booking with the same card because my friend didn’t has his card at this moment. So, when we arrived this morning to get it, they said that we have to pay 2 camperhomes and we went to get just our camperhome with my name. They didn’t understood that it was not both camperhomes and they said that we have to pay for the cancellation of the other camperhome AFTER payed all the money for our car, 4000 dollars. They told us that after paying all the money for our camperhome and after told us that if we didn’t pay the other camperhome we didn’t have any camperhome. Do you think this is right ? We said to the guy who attended us, AARON that we don’t have 4000 dollar more for one that is not on our name!! Is not our booking, is the booking of a friend. Do you think it is normal that we pay a camperhome which is not booked on our names ? After a long conversation, for solving the problem we must had to pay 300 dollar More, we payed it for the others for finally take our camperhome because it’s was the only option for take it. We didn’t have choice... We had every campings booked during the next 10 days and it was Christmas! After he said that we must pay the rest when we come back but we don’t have this money and we are really not agree with that and we can’t pay it for one booking that is not our ! We can’t afford it because we don’t have that money we are students and it is not our contract. We also want to make another complain. We have been attended by a very rude vendedor, AARON BRANCH MANAGER, he told us that we have no problem for taking our camperhome, because we told him we just went to get one camperhome, our one,and not my friend’s one.He made us pay around 4000 dollars with a big smile, after paying that he told us that now we have a problem and told us that if we didn’t pay the cancellation of the other camperhome, which means paying all of it, 100%, we can’t take our camperhome. He wanted us to pay other 4000 dollars for the other. If we didn’t have the cancellation of the other people we didn’t get our car. We tried to talk to solve the problem and he was very arrogant and he didn’t let us talk, he didn’t treat us as costumers, just he repetead that we had two options, or we paid the cancellation of the other camperhome which its not ours, to be able to get ours, or lose 4000 dollars that we had already paid without getting any camperhome. So finally, after calling the police because we were feeling cheated, he gave us other option, pay 300 dollars for the other camperhome which is not our problem, for not losing the money that we had already paid and can get our car. After paying 300 dollars for solving the problem, He forced us to sign a paper of recognition of debts for could get our car, a debt of almost 3000 dollars, again cheating on us, if we didn’t sign it, we would lose 4500 dollars in total that we had already paid.At this moment, he said that we must sing it in two minutes, without giving us more time, he would cancel both camperhomes without returning any money and he said he will take the money of the card that paid the booking because he was able to do that. And it is my card, so he made us sign that for not losing our money and finally take the camperhome. He all the time told us the bad news after paying what he said to get our camperhome. We had not choice because we had all the campings booked everywhere, and he told us that sending this email problably all will be finished. We are in Australia to enjoy and visit your country, we choose Apollo because we listen and we saw that is the best company for booked camperhome but we are very disappointed for the problem that we had and how he treated us with a really bad behavior... We understand that it’s a problem for the company to loose money but it’s not our fault and they can’t charge us the debts. If someone can help us please..? We don't know what can we do!!! Also, yesterday we gave the camperhome and today I have a new charge around 80$ because the tell me that we arrive 10min late...its crazy, my good they are scammers I don't know if that is because we are student and we can do anything... Please help us...

We hired a camper van to go from Melbourne to SYdney for a week.

Throughout the trip me and my partner experienced insect bites, we initially put it down to mossies. However, These bites got progressively worse on return home, I was later diagnosed with having scabies and also getting bed bugs which came from leaving our suitcases underneath our bed. These are both significantly hard to get rid of, we ve had to get pest control in twice and spend money on various different remedies.

I contacted Apollo Motorhomes and it took them weeks to respond and have given me no information on what their hygiene practices are or offered any financial assistance. No questions have been answer but a weak apology.

I’ve reported to Department of Health and Safety who are currently investigating this and it looks like I’m not the only customer who has came across this problem.

Apollo did nt give any answer, they dont care at all, arrogant company, so again avoid these people. My Dutch travel agnecy gave a ticket for next travel. But it isnt there issue.

Ive rented many cars, 4WD and campervans all over the world, but never had a bad experience like Apollo australia. By Far. Staff is not interested, they send you on the road with garbage, there is a policy of neglect, lack of help. If you complain nothing happens. Never will use Apollo again. RV with 369.00 km behind the wheels, central lock didnt work. Cushions were torned, doors didnt close , couldnt be opened, equipment was outdated, broke or werent there. Top on it, the car key broke, so we couldnt drive. Staff of Apollo didnt think this vwere problems, just deal with it. They offered a fee of 190AUD , we couldnt travel for a couple of days in this so called RV. After several complaints , staff kept to their policy ( nice guy, mr Smart) so never again Apollo for me.

Hi,DO NOT RENT FROM APOLLO!!!!! rent a obviously bad van, that broke up in the middle of australian desert. Called the assistence they told us what to do, as the rescue was hard for christmas reasons and I had the plane to catch they told us we could leave it there and go with the last bus we could catch and now they want us to pay for the transport of the van from middle of desert to Melbourne + it was vandalized etc etc because we did not return it in melbourne. Now someone should explain how I was supposed to return it if it was not drivable! even if we paied for full coverage. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!! Noemi

Just Sad...

I rented a 6 Person RV with my father at apollo in san franscisco. It all went well we came back and they found the tiniest scratch in the world on the awning we paid a ton of money for full coverage so we thought we was good but *** no we werent good at all... they said they showed us a paper that sais no coverage from above... we never saw this paper... they said they show it everytime well that aint true so they charged us a full 500 $ yes 500$ extra they say they have to replace the whole awning i searched it and the most premium one i could find in the right size cost 250$ well *** just charge me double aight thats fine. We argued with the manager there and he didnt give in dont rent here cause full coverage should be full... especially if you look at the *** money we paid for everything... rent Oh yeah and the personell isnt nice at all and the navigation system they give you puts you anywhere it wants rent somewhere else and save yourself this straight up ***

I was running later than I wanted to pick up our camper for the Easter long weekend so rang to let them know I was stuck in traffic - it was 4.10 and my gps said I would be there at 4.27 and I said that to the girl that answered - to which I was curtly told "we close at 4.30 you should be here at 4 because it takes 40 mins to do the paperwork" ( for anyone who has hired a van you know it takes 5 mins to do the paperwork but you wait around for 35 mins while they do? Whatever it is they do!) anyway I arrived at 4.25 to find both gates closed and a car load of people already locked out- I rang again and although there was clearly staff there (as well as at least 6 other groups still packing into their vans) there was no answer- and no interest in "ensuring all customers get their vehicles" which I have since been quoted by Apollo customer service - instead the staff member at that depot told customer service they closed one gate at 4.20 and the other at 4.30 (which is untrue) because a manager was leaving that day ( and clearly they had to go for drinks!!!!

I wanted to go wine tasting among other things to Mudgee that night but instead had to wait 2 nights because they were not open on the Friday! So if you are planning a trip don't plan to use Apollo

Apollo motorhomes BEWARE

APOLLO SEEMS TO CONSIDERS ITS CUSTOMERS AS POOR LITTLE THINGS ONLY GOOD TO PAY. With my personal friends, I often rent 4WD vehicules to make remote area and outback trips of Australia. During previous trips in Australia , cited below, We have not had any problemes with Kea the rental company. - Cairns - Cape York (4x4 drive rental -Kea) - Kakadu National park (4x4 drive rental -Kea) - Kimberley (4x4 drive rental -Kea) That time we choosed, Apollo to rent 3 Overlander Toyota Landcruisers from the 8th to the 21st of October 2016. These cars had to be prepared for trips in remote areas, away from any possibility of assistance. We, as group, needed to be self sufficient to completely appreciate the full outback experience . Our budget was planed for that outcome. So unfortunately, we had a lot of troubles with your vehicules and equipment associated with the rentals. > Tyre : the second day of our trip, we discover that the rear right tyre of one of the vehicules was delamining from the inside after a flat. We had to repair it in Mount Dare (South Australia). - One annex with sleeping for 3 people was impossible to fit so we were obliged to use a tent. > Gas for the stoves provided: - we received 6 gas bottles and we discovered on the second day that 3 gas bottles were completely empty. this resulted in fact that by day 4 we had no more gas. - during the rest of the trip, it was Impossible to buy or to refill the empty bottle except for back in Alice Springs! > Fridge : - One fridge from one vehicule, stopped working when not plugged directly to a power source. we tried to self repair but we had no technical notice/manual to guide us. This made it impossible to store food in this car and the food stored in this fridge had gone off making it unsafe to eat increasing the budget unnessissaraly . The problem was found by your staff, once we lost a day of travel to Alice Springs, at your Apollo depot, the second battery in the vehicule designated to the fridge was out of order. Because of these problems, we were obliged to change our logicistical and financial plans and camp daily in a camperground with a restaurant or some type of dining service for the three vehicules and 9 people. > These car are rented to accomodate 5 people but in reality it is only possible to have 3 ! And we spent about 10 000 AUS$ (3000 per car, we added a complete insurance package). ➢ we increase our group budget (about 2900 $AUS more) ➢ the three cars were obliged to drive back from Kings Canyon to Alice Spring to fix all the problem ➢ we lost one rental day, the difficulties to deal with their Alice Spring branch because they were only 2 people to take car of so much customers, Andy Smart Guest Relations Supervisor Apollo Motorhome Holidays 698 Nudgee Road Northgate, Brisbane QLD 4013 Australia gave us a very poor answer. First time he try to separate our group to try to deal withg each team ! We refuse. We refuse. We were a group. He propose us 25 $AUS for the gas bottle !!!! Ridiculous. After an exchange, he increased his answer to abou 800 $AUS and without waiting our answer he draft the money separately. His commercial speech was pleasant but almost insulting if we consider the costs that we had to face because of the lack of seriousness in preparing their cars and the ridiculous proposal as compensation. They did not take into account the reality of things as we describe it in our mail to the company. We prepared our expedition seriously. She was greatly disturbed by their lack of seriousness such as providing empty gas bottles impossible to buy or to refill elsewhere than Alice Spring, 800 km north of our position !!! And we didn’t switch on the EPIRB because we got stuck in sand near Mount Dare ! We understand that mistakes may sometimes occur even in a serious company. But they doesn’t take in consideration the real financial consequences of their mistakes on our budget. We therefore urge Apollo to reconsider their answer which is totally out of proportion with the probleme that lack of preparation caused us. So, I decided to explain in all my articles the difficulties we encountered with Apollo. And I am now going to inform as more as possible the poor consideration of Apollo for its customers in order to discourage potential future people do rent an Apollo car.

I wish I had read the various reviews abut Apollo before booking a vehicle with them. They scammed us too. My Mom-in-law booked and payed the rental last week (using her south african credit card) for our 10 day trip to new zealand (we are living in Malayaia). After paying the deposit they told us that she had to be present when the bond was paid. As this was not possible we had to ask for a cancellation. After many, many emails and international calls from our side, and broken promises by not coming back to us, we were finally told that it is now too late to get the deposit back. To make matters worse they have just charged the full aount to the card!!! Do NOT hire a vehicle from Apollo.
